Maison Duffour came to life from Alix & Rodolphe’s imagery. Food has always been a topic close to their hearts for the French couple. Both being from families with numerous siblings and cousins, they have fond memories of long tables full of incredible homemade dishes. These moments left an everlasting impression on the French couple.

In late 2016, Maison Duffour started as an online gourmet food store with deliveries twice a week in Dubai. Less than 6 years later, Maison Duffour is open and delivers 7 days a week across the UAE, is also available for same-day deliveries on our website and through our partners’ apps. Since day 1, we have proposed great food to residents of the UAE at an affordable price in the comfort of their homes. We have now become an essential online food store in the UAE, delivering more than 12000 people’s homes in 2022 only. In March 2021, we opened our first shop in our warehouse, initially with our buy online, pick up in-store (BOPIS) system only. Since 2021, our customers can purchase products directly in our shop. The company continued its expansion and recently developed a catering department to serve both corporates and individuals.

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic Retail Assistant to join our growing organization.

Missions (non-exhaustive list): 

  • Customer Sales and Relationships - Advise, sell, and promote retail products to cultivate on-going customer relationships and positive experiences.
  • Daily Shift Duties - Ensure all retail shelves are clean and replenished, labels and signage are neat and correct, and product usage dates and quality are monitored daily.
  • Create/transform cheese, charcuterie and retail products into boards, hampers and as per Maison Duffour/customer needs.
  • Retail Services, Product Knowledge, and Visual Merchandising - Maintain full knowledge of all retail services, products and visual product display guidelines to successfully present and deliver them to all customers as per company standards.
  • Customer Billing and Payment Processing - Assist with in-store billing and payment processing of customer transactions. 
  • Daily and Weekly Reports - Complete and submit reports/checklists on time as required.
  • Internal Communication and Coordination - Communicate with the dedicated manager and/or supervisor with any customer and/or operational issues to help maintain positive teamwork within an efficient operation.  
  • HSSE & Quality Adherence - Utilize, maintain and clean relevant equipment and retail area within HSSE guidelines for daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education/ Experience & Knowledge:

  • Qualifications - At least 1-3 years in the retail food business preferable. A sound knowledge base on retail, cheese and charcuterie.
  • Professional / Legal Skills - To have Customer Service background; preferably food service related.
  • Computer Knowledge - Basic knowledge and/or experience with related technical equipment in the store.
  • Communication Skills - Clear communication skills in English both verbal and written.
  • Experience - Customer Service in related industry; basic Cash Handling.
  • Other Skills & Elements
  1. Can work on their feet for long hours.
  2. You are able to handle non-halal food

Working hours: 

  • 5.5 working days per week (1 week with 2 days off, the following one with 1 day off) 
  • 9 hours per day including 1h for a lunch break 
  • You are potentially available to work on shifts (early evening and weekend)
  • Rotation of days off, communicated in advance by management, but subject to possible changes depending on the activity and unforeseen circumstances 

Salary and benefits: 

  • Monthly salary of AED 3,500.00 - AED 5.500.00 (Basic 60%, Housing 40%) depending on your experience
  • Transportation allowance of AED 250.00 
  • Possibility of bonus depending on the company's performance and your own performance (bonuses will be decided in February of each year)
  • Employee visa under Maison Duffour will be provided (cost of 9000.00 AED – 50% refundable in case you decide to resign before 1 year from date of employment)
